Through Gentle, Brain-Based Movement

If your child is struggling to reach milestones, or something in their development doesn’t feel quite right, you may be carrying a lot of questions.

Are we doing enough?
Why isn’t this getting easier?
Is there another way to support my child—without pushing or overwhelming them?

You are not alone in this.

Many of the families I work with have already tried therapies that focus on strengthening, repetition, or correcting movement patterns. And still, progress feels slow, inconsistent, or unclear.

NeuroMovement® offers a different, holistic approach.

Support for Your Child’s Development

What Is
NeuroMovement®?

NeuroMovement® or Anat Baniel Method® is a gentle, brain-based approach that helps children learn and develop by improving how the brain organizes movement, sensation, and action.

It is an evolution of the Feldenkrais Method.

Instead of focusing on fixing or training the body, we work with the nervous system to create the conditions for learning and change.

Because when the brain has better information, new possibilities can emerge.

You Might Be Here Because…

  • Your child isn’t rolling, sitting, crawling, or walking as expected

  • You’ve received a diagnosis (or are in the process of getting one)

  • Your child has challenges with coordination, muscle tone, or movement

  • Communication feels limited or inconsistent

  • Your child seems uncomfortable, frustrated, or disconnected

  • You’ve tried therapies, but aren’t seeing the changes you hoped for

  • You want to help your child—but don’t want to push them beyond what feels right

If this sounds familiar,
this work may offer a new path forward.

A Different Way to Support Development

In NeuroMovement® lessons, we don’t force movement or repeat exercises.

Instead, we mimic the natural conditions and methods of human development by introducing small, gentle variations in movement that help the brain:

  • notice differences

  • build new connections

  • organize the body more efficiently

This creates the foundation for:

  • movement

  • communication

  • attention

  • learning

Change doesn’t come from doing more.

It comes from helping the brain learn in a richer, more connected way.

What a Lesson Looks Like

Lessons are calm, gentle, and responsive to your child.

Your child remains fully clothed and comfortable, often lying on a padded table or resting in a supported position.

Using light, intentional touch, I guide small movements that help your child’s brain receive new sensory information.

There is no forcing, stretching, or pushing.

Each lesson is:

  • individualized to your child

  • respectful of their pace and needs

  • designed to create ease, not effort

Parents are always welcomed to observe. Many begin to see their child—and their potential—in a new way.

Q & A

*

Q & A *

  • NeuroMovement® is different. Rather than seeking an outcome as a sign of progress or focusing on a distinct area of concern Phoebe invites your child’s brain and Nervous System to discover new ways to move and function through whole-body co-ordination.

This supports a powerful, natural learning process that leads to spontaneous outcomes.

  • All lessons are customized for your child and are very gentle.

I use slow, gentle movement and awareness to invite and guide your child’s nervous system to notice what they are doing and guide them into other possibilities. Sometimes I use toys, books or other items to engage with your child.

If your child like songs and music this is a particular expertise of mine!

In-person Lessons with Phoebe take place on a treatment table, in a caregiver’s lap, or on the floor. The child is fully clothed.

The child’s comfort and sense of safety is the most important factor in deciding where the lesson takes place.

Parents and caregivers are present to observe the lesson, maximizing the power of the session.

Brilliant Movement Children Lessons are usually between 30-45 minutes in length. The child leads the duration of the lesson.

  • NeuroMovement uses your child’s natural capacity to build and grow new brain connections that lead to nervous system regulation and skill development.

Specific, slow, gentle, movement that mimics the natural developmental process organizes the brain which then creates opportunities for new neural pathways and skills to form.

  •  Learning and change can be instantaneous. I recommend starting your NeuroMovement® with an introductory consultation and then a cluster of 6 to 10 lessons over 1-2 weeks to get powerful results. We’ll review your child’s progress and (if needed) adjust the plan together.

Unlike a weekly PT or OT appointments Phoebe’s Lesson structure is designed to be an immersion experience. Since we are looking to prime the brain of your child to holistically create new brain connections, an immersion gives your child the best chance to create a REAL shift in their feeling and functions.

We can discuss your situation to determine what works best for your family.

  • Phoebe offers in-home NeuroMovement® lessons to families with medically fragile children or those who can not easily travel to see her in her office. Please reach out to Phoebe for more information about in-home lessons.

  •  Yes. On-line @Home Parent coaching lessons are a very effective way to work with me to help you with your child.

I observe how you interact with your child and offer you ideas to upgrade your own brain while supporting your child’s nervous system and brain development.

I like to help you while you are engaging with your child in “daily” activities like playing, eating, clothing etc.

When you upgrade your interactions with your child to support their nervous system, learning emerges spontaeously.

  • Lessons are not covered by insurance as NeuroMovement® is not a medical modality.

Some clients have had success using Health Savings Accounts to pay for Lessons but you must arrange that with your medical team and insurance.

  • TaborSpace is served by TriMet bus service line #15. Other close bus routes include the #71 and #75 on Cesar Chavez Blvd

There is parking at TaborSpace. A free Parking Lot is located on the NW corner of SE Belmont and SE 54th Ave. Some street parking is available on SE Belmont St.
